Hand in hand for the energy transition: The Solarcamp Berlin promotes labour!

Solarcamp for Future from 22 July to 2 August

Objective: To arouse interest in solar energy and create access to the training and labour market in the
in the photovoltaics sector

Idea: The energy transition needs many helping hands. Tens of thousands of new jobs will be created in the photovoltaic trade alone over the next few years. However, photovoltaic companies are finding it increasingly difficult to fill these jobs – the energy transition is in danger of failing due to a shortage of labour. More than 100,000 skilled workers are needed in the installation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems (source: https://solar.htw-berlin.de/wp-content/uploads/HTW-Studie-Solarstromausbau-fuer-den-Klimaschutz.pdf – p. 17).

Solarcamps for Future wants to help actively combat this.

Content: Training camp and events

Programme of the camp:
People from different backgrounds are trained for a fortnight by professional trainers on practice roofs in theory and practice to become PV installation assistants. In addition, the participants receive a course to become an electrically instructed person (EuP) with a final certificate.

Lectures, roundtable discussions on the energy transition and sustainability issues as well as joint leisure activities also encourage people to get together and engage with the topic of renewable energy. The solar camp in Berlin (https://solarcamp-berlin.de ) is part of “Solarcamp for Future”, whose local groups have already successfully organised solar camps in Kassel, Freiburg, Lüneburg and Braunschweig in 2023. This summer, solar camps will be held in ten
